On October 14th, 2023, the Jamesport Fire Department hosted a Fire Prevention Open House that was nothing short of spectacular! We were thrilled to see so many members of our community come out and engage with us in a day filled with learning and fun.
One of the highlights of the event was the collaboration with various outside agencies who joined us to make this day even more informative and exciting.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the following:
- Suffolk Sheriff's Office - Riverhead Police Department - Riverhead Ambulance Corps - New York State Police
Their participation added immense value to the event and emphasized the importance of community partnerships in ensuring public safety.
Our Fire Prevention Open House featured a range of educational stations designed to enlighten the public on crucial aspects of sfire safety and prevention. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in Edith (Exit Drills in the Home) exercises, where they learned essential skills for safely exiting a building during a fire emergency. It was heartwarming to see children and adults alike engaging in these exercises and taking steps to protect their families and loved ones.
Additionally, the public had the chance to get to know the Jamesport Fire Department better. We provided insights into our day-to-day operations, equipment, and the dedicated individuals who serve our community. This open house was a fantastic opportunity for community members to connect with their local first responders and learn more about the important work we do.
We are thrilled to report that our Fire Prevention Open House had a fantastic turnout! It was evident that the community's commitment to fire safety and prevention is strong. By participating in the various activities and educational stations, we hope that everyone left with a better understanding of how to protect themselves and their families from fire hazards.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers and participants who made this event a success. Your dedication to fire safety is truly commendable, and together, we are making our community a safer place.
Remember, fire safety is a year-round commitment. Continue to stay informed, be prepared, and encourage others to do the same.
